Coyhaique, Aysen region on the heart of the Chilean Patagonia
The Region
Aysen is located in the heart of the Chilean Patagonia. Its vast territory and its great amount of rivers, tributaries an lakes, makes of this zone one of the preferred global destinations for those fishermen that not only look for a variety of species to face with their rods , but also a natural environment, surrounded by the most wonderful landscapes.
The Aysen region is located between the 43º and 38’ and 49º 16’ of south latitude and from the 71º 06’ of east longitude to the Pacific Ocean.
Its land extension is of 109.052 km2, with a population of 100.000 Hb, (0.6 Hb / Km2).
This zone's fishing season starts in mid October and ends on the beginning of May.
The Fishing Environment
Spring creeks, on which we will fish Brown trouts which average is of 13 to 17 inches, with occasional surprises that can reach the 20 inches, using mostly through the season hoppers and mayflies imitations.
The waters are very clear, that’s why fishes are very cautious and elusive, but they behave in an impertinent way when they face a well presented insect fly.
Lower volume rivers, where we can practice sight-fishing, to capture rainbow and Brown trouts with an average of 15 to 17 inches and a few that can exceed the 20 inches, using hoppers, big beetles and mayflies imitations.
Larger rivers, navigable in small ships, for fishing large specimens of rainbow and brown trouts, using mayflies, caddis and stoneflies, dry imitations or nymphs. On this water courses are also present salmons traveling upstream, for which we will use sinking lines and big streamers flies.
Is possible to found brown and steelheads going upstream, depending on the climate conditions, on the end of the season.
Surrounding lakes and lagoons, providing still water bodies, supply large specimens of Brown trouts, which average is between 18 and 20 inches, with occasional surprises that can go beyond the 30 inches, which are found feeding themselves through the shores, mainly from dragonflies, damselflies, grasshoppers, beetles, caddis and mayflies, for which we will use their respective imitations and others, the biggest and ugliest will be the more interesting for the trouts.
Lodging
The lodging is considered on double rooms or cabins, on the most renowned lodges of the zone, all of them next to excellent fishing spots. They also count with activities for the non-fishermen, or companions of this passionate sportsman’s, such as bird watching, trekking and horseback riding.

Our programs are designed to satisfy a variety of needs, on water or species types, trouts, migratory trouts and salmon.
Mostly, our offer is of three or six days of fishing, this way we can keep an adequate control of our booking calendar.

However, we carry on programs for longer periods, according to your needs, for which we ask you for anticipated reservation.

Day 05 Transfer to Balmaceda airport, to start your return trip.
